They say that money can’t buy happiness. Even if that’s true, it won’t stop us from trying. However if you’re going to spend your money in hopes of gaining a measure of happiness, it seems that there are ways to hedge your bets.

 

I just came across a Think Christian article saying that it seems that money spent on experiences yields more happiness than money spent on goods. So if you’re looking for the maximum bang for the buck on your happiness expenditure, maybe pass on a material item and attend an event or plan a getaway. You don’t need to spend a lot of money, either. $5 spent over coffee that results in good conversation can yield more happiness than something costing much, much more.
